| In the 1970's a group of experienced sailors spearheaded the creation of an Offshore Sailing Department which gave the opportunity for older members to participate in nautical activities, thus adding a new vein of life to the efforts of the NCTh. Soon the new department became well known all over Greece and gave the NCTh a reputation as an advocate of offshore sailing. NCTh started to organize of local meets in 1974, which lead to annual championships beginning in 1986. In 1978 the NCTh made efforts to organize an international sailing week, the "North Aegean Cup", one of the most important Greek offshore events. |
